imageRib Mountain State Park was another park I visited for the first time in 2012 that I will make sure to return to. Our timing for our visit was nearly perfect. We arrived just past fall color peak. The golden colors were nothing short of impressive. The ranger told us so many people were in the park the weekend before that they had to turn people away because they could not fit another car in the park. The adjacent ski area was running their lifts for an aerial view of the colors. As fall colors begin to emerge, put Rib Mountain on your list of places to go. You will be happy you did!
Come back once winter sets in for some skiing, snowboarding, and snowshoeing fun! Rib Mountain is a four-season park!
Fischer Creek is a perfect picnic park. The view of Lake Michigan is breathtaking. The park sits perched above the lake. One would beimage hard- pressed to find a local place with a better view. There is plenty of room to spread and play lawn games too. If you're looking for a fall picnic destination with a view, this is your place! The lake is just a short hike down to the beach. It's getting a little chilly for a swim this year. However, summer will return again. The beach will be ready to greet it upon it's return.
imageRocky Arbor State Park is a beautiful park located close to Wisconsin Dells. There are hiking trails around beautiful rock formations that the area is famous for. I spent much time examining each set of rocks closely because each one has its own unique fingerprint. Colors in the rocks vary as do the unique patterns carved into them by the forces of nature. The park also offers camping. Come enjoy a beautiful natural setting with peace and quiet that is still close to Wisconsin Dells. This park takes on a new character with each season. Come back with each one to see how it has changed!
