2014 HERO Awards

Each year, the Friends of Wisconsin State Parks recognizes DNR land managers, individuals and Friends groups who have been instrumental in contributing time and energy at a state park, forest, or trail.
 The HERO awards  recognize a DNR Land manager, a local Friends group and an Individual Friends member who has shown outstanding dedication to support state parks, forests, and trails.
The 2014 HERO award winners are:

Nominations were open to all Wisconsin State Parks, Trails, and Forests - managers, members and Friends groups. Just under 100 nominations were received from the  online contest at The Friends of Wisconsin State Parks Web site:  fwsp.org .
HERO awards will be presented at the 18th Annual Awards Banquet on October 11, 2014, at the Monona Terrace Community and Convention Center, One John Nolen Drive, Madison, Wisconsin.

The Friends of Wisconsin State Parks was created to preserve, protect, promote and enhance Wisconsin’s state parks, forests, trails and recreation areas. Friends of Wisconsin State Parks is a non-profit umbrella organization supporting over 80 friends groups around the state. FWSP provides technical support, sponsors events such as Work*Play*Earth Day and the annual Volunteer Jamboree.
