An Entire Year of Celebration

The Friends of Wisconsin State Parks Online Store Offers this Much Joy!

For each month of the year, my best friend surprised me with:
12 Drummers Drumming Along Glacial Drumlin State Trail
11 Pipers At Northern Highland-American Legion State Forest
10 Lords-A-Leaping Over Blue Mound State Park
9 Ladies Dancing Atop Wildcat Mountain State Park
8 Maids-A-Milking At Friendship State Trail
Stower Seven Lakes State Trail Photos
6 Geese-A-Laying At Richard Bong State Recreation Area
5 Passes To Copper Falls State Park
4 Colly Birds Sitting On Red Cedar State Trail
3 French Hens At Heritage Hill State Park
2 Turtle Doves At Perrot State Park
And A Gandy Dancer In A pear tree.
Sincerest apologies are extended to the writer(s) of the English Christmas carol - Twelve Days of Christmas.  Many liberties were taken with both the lyrics and meter of the poem. Very little research revealed that the first rendition was sung by Burl Ives in 1951. Raise your hands....How many remember? Of course, in 2010 Snoop Dogg also did a rendition. Does anyone care to raise your hand for this version?

All together now...On the twelfth day of Christmas......
